Huda for iOS & Android

Privacy Policy

AAZK Solutions LLC  ·  Effective 12 October 2026  ·  Applies to the Huda mobile app (com.aazksolutions.huda)

Huda does not collect your personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

Prayer times and the qibla are calculated on your device, and your location is never sent to us. Phone Mosque Finder asks before sending approximate coordinates to Apple Maps or Google Maps. Car-display mosque discovery and older app versions use OpenStreetMap’s Overpass service when you use that feature. Your reading, bookmarks, memorisation progress, recitation and settings never leave your device. We have no server that stores anything about you, because we have no server.

What stays on your device

Everything Huda remembers about you is written to your phone's private app storage and is never uploaded. It is removed when you uninstall the app:

Location

Optional Home weather: After you enable local weather, Huda sends your selected coordinates rounded to two decimal places (about 1 km) to api.open-meteo.com. The provider also receives network information such as your IP address. Huda downloads one hourly forecast per selected location and local calendar day while the app is open, then changes the displayed temperature and conditions locally as the hours pass. Failed downloads may be retried. There is no background location tracking. You can turn it off in Settings. A single approximate-area daily forecast is cached on your device. Today’s forecast is reused when you return to the app; older saved forecasts are labelled and displayed for no more than 24 hours after download. Opening the weather panel shows the remaining hours from the same forecast without an additional request. Moon phase is calculated entirely on your device and does not predict local crescent visibility. Open-Meteo privacy.

If you choose to share your location, Huda uses it to calculate prayer times and the direction of the qibla. That calculation happens entirely on your device using an offline astronomical library. For these offline calculations, your coordinates are stored on your device so the app can work without asking again. They are never sent to us. Optional weather and external map sharing are described separately in this section.

Phone Mosque Finder opens an external map only after you confirm sharing. Huda sends the search term “mosques” and your selected coordinates rounded to three decimal places (roughly 100 metres in latitude) to Apple Maps or Google Maps. The coordinates may come from your saved location, manual entry, or a current location you request. Opening the page does not send a location. You can cancel sharing or enter coordinates without granting device-location permission. Your saved prayer location is unchanged. The chosen provider receives the request and may receive network information such as your IP address; its privacy policy applies.

Car displays and older versions: CarPlay and Android Auto mosque discovery, and older phone versions, continue to query OpenStreetMap’s Overpass services using rounded coordinates. Those services receive your IP address. Directions open the selected external maps service. Apple Maps privacy · Google privacy.

You can decline the permission or revoke it later in your system settings, and you can type a latitude and longitude instead, in Settings > Prayer. Prayer times, the qibla and Mosque Finder all work from typed coordinates; only the live compass needs your permission.

Microphone

Huda's optional listening feature can follow your recitation and help you practise. It asks for the microphone only when you start listening. Your voice is processed entirely on your device by a model you download once; audio is never uploaded, recorded to a file or kept after listening stops. Test reports store the verses and possible word mistakes, never audio.

When the app contacts the internet

Huda ships the entire Qur'an, its translations, transliteration and the adhkar inside the app, so ordinary reading works with no network at all. The app makes a request only in the cases below. Except for Mosque Finder, the only thing the receiving server learns is what any web request reveals: your device's IP address, and which file was asked for.

DestinationWhat it is forWhen it happens
everyayah.com Per-verse recitation audio Only when you download or play a verse
mp3quran.net Full-surah (gapless) recitation audio Only when you download or play a whole surah
static-cdn.tarteel.ai Page fonts for the 1421H and 1441H mushaf prints Only when you choose one of those prints
huggingface.co The optional on-device listening model Only when you choose to download it
overpass-api.de / overpass.private.coffee Car-display and older-version mosque searches near an approximate location When you use mosque discovery in the car or an older phone version
maps.apple.com / google.com/maps Phone mosque search with approximate coordinates Only after you confirm sharing and opening Maps
api.open-meteo.com Hourly forecast for approximate coordinates Only after you enable Home weather; once per local day or changed location, with retries if needed
u.expo.dev Checks whether an app update is available Automatically, when the app starts

Every request except the last happens only because you asked for something. The last is automatic: the update service is operated by Expo, and the app tells it which version of Huda you are running so it can answer whether a newer one exists. It is not given any information about you or how you use the app.

These services are operated independently of us and have their own privacy practices. We do not send them anything about you beyond the request itself.

Notifications

Prayer time alerts, the reading reminder and the morning and evening adhkar reminders are all scheduled by your own device. Huda has no push notification service and deliberately ships without push capability — no notification is ever sent from a server, so nothing about your prayer schedule or reading habits is transmitted to reach you.

What Huda never does

Children

Huda is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Because nothing is collected, nothing about a child is collected either.

Your rights

Data protection laws give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to return or erase. Everything the app stores is on your own device and under your control: clearing the app's data or uninstalling it removes all of it permanently.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes affecting how the app handles your information will also be noted in the app's release notes.
